Two shanks are engraved R RICHARDS 11-1521 RIGHT and R RICHARDS 11-1523 NEUTRAL. Smith & Nephew lists catalogue number 111523 as the Smillie cartilage knife, neutral. Three handle patterns are present: flat fishtail, flat cross bar, and round with a bent shank.
